We may attribute distance from God to busyness or lack of focus. Sometimes we may even accuse God of distancing Himself from us (even though that's probably not the case). But there are also times when the source of disconnection is us - it's our own decisions and our own actions and the regret and guilt of our mistakes that can push us to a breaking point in our faith. Many of us have experienced times in our lives when we felt overwhelmed, stretched to our limit, about to break. Busy schedules, financial burdens, relationship problems, faith struggles…or maybe a combination of these…can push us to our breaking point. For the next few weeks at Flagstone we’re going to look at different characters from scripture who didn’t think they could take it anymore, and we’re going to discover that, when we are at our breaking point, we can actually experience a breakthrough.
