Search through scripture, and you’ll find a variety of methods people used to engage in worshipping God. Over the last few centuries churches have united and divided themselves over various worship practices, trying to determine what is the “right way” to worship. For the next several weeks at Flagstone we are going to rediscover worship. We are going to remind ourselves, or maybe learn for the first time, what should be at the core of our worship and why true worship that God desires from His people really matters.

It seems that our society as a whole has become convinced there is nothing in our culture that is absolutely true. There's no black and white - only gray. There's no absolute right and wrong - there's just "my truth" and "your truth." There's nothing that's actually real - everything is fake or "staged." It makes it difficult to believe that there are some things in this world that are true, that there are some things that are real and that I can put my trust in. The reality is that scripture reveals what's real in this world - it shows me what I can rely on and where to place my trust. But how can building a better connection to God's Word enable me to see truth and to know what things I can actually count on?

Maybe I've never actually read the Bible before. Maybe I've read bits and pieces but never really let the words sink in. Maybe I used to read it often, but now it's a book I rarely pick up. No matter what your past experience with God's Word has been, we invite you to join us on a journey to revisit scripture (or maybe dive in for the first time) as we discover why the words of this ancient book are still so relevant for us today.
