40% of Americans say they feel a deep sense of peace on at least a weekly basis. Yet the United States ranks in the top 5 of most stressed countries in the world. We seem to be a people who crave peace yet find difficulty in achieving it. But peace is something that scripture says Jesus came to give and something that God calls His followers to. So how do I find God's peace, and how do I get better at sharing that peace with others?
There's a difference between having an assignment or a job description and having a calling. When I feel called to do something, I have a sense of urgency; there is something I feel compelled to do. I perceive a greater purpose and mission to whatever it is I feel called to do. Join us the next few weeks at Flagstone as we explore what it's like to be called by God for a specific purpose and what that calling should lead us to accomplish.

Sometimes the things that we feel called by God to do seem relatively easy, or at least they don't make us very uncomfortable. But sometimes God challenges us through His Word or through His Spirit or even through certain circumstances to take actions and make decisions that stretch us and push us beyond our comfort zones. But what if that's not what I really want to experience? What if I don't want to go the direction God is calling?
Many of us have experienced times in our lives when we felt overwhelmed, stretched to our limit, about to break. Busy schedules, financial burdens, relationship problems, faith struggles…or maybe a combination of these…can push us to our breaking point. For the next few weeks at Flagstone we’re going to look at different characters from scripture who didn’t think they could take it anymore, and we’re going to discover that, when we are at our breaking point, we can actually experience a breakthrough.
