The Church as a Bride

Wedding ceremonies can be magical and beautiful, but they can also be stress-filled and chaotic. Husbands and wives can seem perfectly matched, and yet most marriages have some amount of mistakes and at least a few problems. In spite of its imperfections and flaws, Jesus chooses to view His church as His bride. But what does that mean? How is the church like a bride? And how does our role as a "bride" impact our relationship with our "Groom"?

Scripture References: Ephesians 5:31-32, Ephesians 5:24, Ephesians 5:25-27, 2 Corinthians 11:2, Revelation 19:7, 1 Corinthians 6:20

From Series: "Snapshot"

Throughout the Bible there are various metaphors and illustrations used to describe the church. These "snapshots" give us a deeper understanding of how we connect to God and to each other and what our purpose is in this world. We are going to take a closer look at some of these descriptions in scripture so that we can develop a clearer picture of our God and His relationship with His church.
