Christmas time has the potential to give us lots of surprising moments. We might receive a gift we didn‘t expect, the weather can change on us almost instantly, a relative may show up unexpectedly at a family gathering. When we look at the story of the birth of Jesus, we see lots of unexpected moments as well. At Flagstone this Christmas, we are going to discover (or re-discover) some of the surprises surrounding the arrival of a newborn baby in the small town of Bethlehem.

In Awe of the Spirit Filled Church

Blueprint: The Framework for a Healthy Church

After the Holy Spirit breaks out onto God's people after Pentecost, the church is born and they are captivated by SPIRIT FILLED AWE that ignites them to become a church that has become the blueprint for the church of today. Acts 2:42-47 is not a "list of things a church needs to do" but rather the inevitable results of a Spirit filled church on a mission. So how can we position ourselves to be struck with this same spirit filled awe from v.43? And how can we move our AWE into ACTION?

Scripture References: 1 Peter 2:2, Acts 8:34-35, Acts 8:31, Hebrews 12:1-2, Acts 2:41, Acts 2:42-47

From Series: "Blueprint: The Framework for a Healthy Church"

Just like the blueprints that builders and engineers use to get a clearer picture of what it is that’s being built, get a better understanding of certain features of the structure or machine, and get a clearer focus on goals that need to be accomplished, scripture also shows us a picture of God’s design for the church. This summer at Flagstone, we’re taking a closer look at God’s blueprint for His church as we walk through the first eight chapters of the book of Acts, and we want you to join us on the journey!
